River ENT physician Dr. Yi-Hsuan “Emmy” Wu has been honored as one of the Texas Super Doctors®: Rising Stars. The list, which honors medical professionals who have shown excellence within the first 10 years of their career, was published by Texas Monthly and Super Doctors®.
The Super Doctors selection process strives to honor providers who have earned high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, and no more than 2.5% of nominees within a specific region are named to the Rising Stars list. The process involves nominees from colleagues, researching credentials and achievements, and assessment through a blue ribbon panel.
About Dr. Wu
Dr. Wu was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up in Sugar Land, Texas. She participated in a medical mission trip to Belize as a college student, which inspired her to pursue a career in medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin, her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston and completed her residency at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. After developing an interest in otology, she completed a fellowship program at the Ear Research Foundation in Sarasota, Florida.
Dr. Wu is certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, Texas Association of Otolaryngology and Austin Society of Otolaryngology.
